Steps

We begin by creating a backup account for the user on the AhsayCBS (Cloud Backup Suite) web console.

1. Create a backup account on the backup server.

  • Login to the AhsayCBS web management console.

  • On the left panel, select 'User & User Group' under 'User Management':

  • Click on the '+' button to add a backup account.

  • Enter the login credentials for the backup account. By default, the backup account will be under the user group 'All Users':

  • Next, assign the 'User Home' location, 'Subscription Type' and other general settings for the backup account:

  • Select the 'Backup Client' type (e.g. AhsayOBM / AhsayACB), and assign the Add-on Modules and Backup Quota for the backup account:

  • Finally, configure the contact information for the backup account, then press 'Add' to create the backup account:

  • Click on the 'Save' button afterward.

Now that the backup account is created, we can login to the backup application on the client computer.

2. Create a backup set on the client computer.

  • On the computer where you would like to perform backup for, install AhsayOBM / AhsayACB.

  • Double click on the system tray or desktop icon, then press 'Login':

  • Enter the login credentials of the backup account that we have just created, then click on the 'Show advanced option' button at the bottom of the interface:

  • Enter the Backup Server settings accordingly, then press 'OK' twice to login to the client application:

  • Select the 'Backup Sets' tile, and the 'Add new backup set' button:

  • Select 'File Backup' backup set type, then enter the backup set name:

  • Configure the backup source of the backup set, select the data that you would like to backup:

  • Click 'I would like to choose the files to backup' to open the 'Advanced Backup Source' menu. Click 'Show files' to show files under folder for individual file selection:

  • Click 'OK' afterward.

  • Click 'Add new storage destination / destination pool' to add the cloud storage destination.

    Important:
It is strongly recommended that all backup sets are configured to backup to multiple backup destinations, to provide user with data redundancy and backup / restore flexibility.

For more details on Backup Destination, you can refer to the following KB article:

  • Continue by configuring a backup schedule and encryption setting for the backup set.

  • Click the 'Backup now' button to start the initial backup job, or allow the job to start at its scheduled time:

Important:
Now that a backup routine is in place, it is also important to perform routine system recovery test to ensure your backup is setup and performed properly.

Performing system recovery test can also help identify potential issues or gaps in your system recovery plan.
