Description:
How to install the latest patch set or hotfixes for AhsayOBS or AhsayRPS?
NOTE: Version 6 is already end of lifecycle as of 31 December 2018. Downloads of installer, patches, hotfixes may be removed without notice.

Steps:
This document contains the information of how to install the latest patch or hotfix for AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS.

How to install the latest patch set / hotfixes for AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS version 6.x:

Value of ${Install-Home} for various operating system:
  • (Windows) C:\Program Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS
  • (Linux) /usr/local/obsr

  1. Download the following patch / hotfix file:

    • Stable patch set releases (6.x.0.0) [color=#FF0000][Patch files for version 6.x upgrade to 6.29.0.0]:
      AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS stable patch set for Windows, Linux / Solaris / FreeBSD

      The zip files provided above may be empty if no new patch set have been released. More information on this release can be found in our Release Notes.

    • Hotfix releases (6.x.x.0) [No hotfix file available]:
      AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS hotfixes for Windows, Linux / Solaris / FreeBSD

      You are advised to apply hotfixes here only to those machines experiencing bugs that have been stated as fixed in the AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS 6.x.x.x Hotfix Release Notes exclusively.

  2. Shutdown the AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS service by:
    • (Windows) [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Ahsay Offsite Backup Server and Replication Server ]
    • (Linux) Run [ service obsr stop ] or [ ${Install-Home} / bin / shutdown.sh ]

  3. Install the patch set / hotfix files:
    • (Windows) Expand [ obsr-win-patch.zip / obsr-win-hotfix.zip ] downloaded to [ ${Install-Home} ]
    • (Linux) Expand [ obsr-nix-patch.zip / obsr-nix-hotfix.zip ] downloaded to [ ${Install-Home} ]

    Be sure to expand all files within the zip archive to their path locations as in the zip archive (overwrite the existing files). For example, please expand the file, [ webapps / obs / WEB-INF / lib / obs.jar], inside the zip archive to [ ${Install-Home} / webapps / obs / WEB-INF / lib / obs.jar ].

    Also, please do not leave the old obs.jar in *.jar extension in the [ ${Install-Home} / webapps / obs / WEB-INF / lib ] directory (e.g. make sure that you delete original obs.jar or rename it to obs.jar.bak)

  4. Startup the AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS service by:
    • (Windows) [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Ahsay Offsite Backup Server and Replication Server ]
    • (Linux) Run [ service obsr start ] or [ ${Install-Home} / bin / startup.sh ]
  5. Installation is now complete



How to auto update all AhsayOBM / ACB client agents:

To auto update all AhsayOBM / AhsayACB client agents, please perform the following procedures:
  1. [ For default installation ]

  2. Extract the downloaded auto update file to:
    [ ${Install-Home}/webapps/obs/liveUpdate ] (overwrite existing files)

  3. Enable the AutoUpdate feature on the AhsayOBS server. Please refer to the Auto Update chapter within the AhsayOBS Administrator's Guide for more information.



Further information:

If you are now seeing any missing resources (e.g. ??xxxxx?? from the web interface) after this upgrade, please download default properties for install:

  1. [ For default installation ]
  2. Extract the properties_*.zip file to a temporary location (e.g. C:\Temp)
  3. Copy the generated resource files:
    • [ C:\Temp\custom\custom-obsr\app\common\webapps\obs\WEB-INF\classes\*.properties ]
    • [ C:\Temp\custom\custom-obsr\app\common\webapps\rps\WEB-INF\classes\*.properties ]
    to
    • [ ${Install-Home}/webapps/obs/WEB-INF/classes ]
    • [ ${Install-Home}/webapps/rps/WEB-INF/classes ] (overwrite existing files)
  4. Restart the AhsayOBS / AhsayRPS service
  5. If you have signed your restorer applet with your own code signing certificate, you are required to sign the applet again:
    [ ${Install-Home}/webapps/obs/jsp/applet/obr/obrA.jar ]

    Refer to the AhsayOBS Administrator's Guide for more information.
