[V9] FAQ: How to collect log files from VMWare products?

Here are the steps to collect VMware internal log files for troubleshooting:

For VMware ESXi Server:

1. Access from VMware Web Client as shown and choose “Generate support bundle”

2. Login with root access when prompt for authentication

3. Collect tgz file downloaded


For VMware vCenter Server:

1. Access VMware Web Client of ESXi Server one by one and collect log as independent VMware ESXi Server

2. Collect all tgz files downloaded from each ESXi Server

** Please don't use “Export System Logs…” on VMware Web Client in VMware vCenter because the log files are not completed in exported file
