The client license model has changed in version 7, AhsayOBM / ACB usages are now calculated per device / installation basis. This article describes the steps on how to determine the number of additional AhsayOBM / ACB licenses required.

To determine the number of client licenses required, refer to the following steps:

• AhsayOBS installation on Windows:
  
  
  1. Download the license requirement calculator by Clicking Here.
     
     
  2. Extract the downloaded zip file to the AhsayOBS installation directory %OBS_HOME% (e.g. C:\Program Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS)
     
     
  3. In command prompt, browse to the 'check' directory:
     
     

     >cd %OBS_HOME%\check

  4. Execute the 'ShowV7Usage.bat' batch file:
     
     

     >ShowV7Usage.bat

  5. Open the output usage.xml file found within the same folder with a web browser.
     
     
  6. The output file will display the number of license usages of all backup accounts. Scroll to the end of the file:

     Where:
     
     ObmCountV6 : Number of AhsayOBM licenses currently used in version 6 (e.g. 103)
     AcbCountV6 : Number of AhsayACB licenses currently used in version 6 (e.g. 14)
     
     ObmCountV7 : Number of AhsayOBM licenses required in version 7 (e.g. 126)
     AcbCountV7 : Number of AhsayACB licenses required in version 7 (e.g. 14)
     
     In the above example, an additional of 23 AhsayOBM device licenses (e.g. 126 - 103 = 23) are required when upgrading your backup server from version 6 to 7.

• AhsayOBS installation on Linux:
  
  
  1. Download the license requirement calculator by Clicking Here.
     
     
  2. Extract the downloaded zip file to the AhsayOBS installation directory $OBS_HOME (e.g. /usr/local/obs)
     
     
  3. Browse to the 'check' directory from the extracted file:
     
     

     >cd $OBS_HOME/check

  4. Execute the 'ShowV7Usage.sh' script file:
     
     

     >./ShowV7Usage.sh

  5. Open the output usage.xml file found within the same folder with a web browser.

  2. Extract the downloaded zip file to the AhsayOBS installation directory $OBS_HOME (e.g. /ubs/mnt/esfmfw/obsr/system/obsr)
     
     
  3. Browse to the 'check' directory from the extracted file:
     
     

     >cd $OBS_HOME/check

  4. Execute the 'ShowV7Usage.sh' script file:
     
     

     >./ShowV7Usage.sh

  5. Open the output usage.xml file found within the same folder with a web browser.
     
     
  6. The output file will display the number of license usages of all backup accounts. Scroll to the end of the file:
