Description:
How do I migrate AhsayOBS from the current installation directory to another volume?

Steps:
This document contains instruction on how to migrate AhsayOBS installation to another volume.

Assumption:
You want to move the AhsayOBS server from:

C:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS

to

D:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS


Instruction:
Refer to the following steps:

  1. Shutdown the AhsayOBS service by:
    [Control Panel] > [Administrative Tools] > [Services] > [Ahsay Offsite Backup Server and Replication Server]


  2. Open an administrative command prompt.


  3. Remove the existing AhsayOBS Windows service by navigating to the directory ${Old-InstallationHome}\bin, and enter the following command:

     AobService -r OBSRService
     


  4. Copy all folders and files under ${Old-InstallationHome} to ${New-InstallationHome}, for example:

    C:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS\*

    to

    D:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS\*


  5. Open a file called 'obs.xml' found within the '${New-Installation Home}\conf' directory with a text editor:

    Update the System Home, User Home and Policy Settings if necessary.

    obs.xml
    ...
     - <system-parameters user="system" password="hashedpassword==" hashed-pwd="Y" hostname="localhost" v442FileSystem="true"
           sysReportLanguage="en" copy-permission="true" copy-moved-files="true" single-level-access="false" enable-lock-user="true">
           <system-home path="D:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS\systemhome"/>
           <user-home path="D:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS\userhome"/>
           <policy-home path="D:\Programs Files\AhsayOBS and AhsayRPS\policyhome"/>
     ...


  6. Install a new AhsayOBS Windows service by navigating to the directory ${New-InstallationHome}\bin, and enter the following command:

     AobService -i "Your_New_Service_Name" "${New-Installation Home}\bin\AobService.exe"
     


  7. Startup the AhsayOBS service by:
    [Control Panel] > [Administrative Tools] > [Services] > [Your_New_Service_Name]
