Problem Description

When attempting to create an Office 365 backup set, the backup client is stuck at the testing stage:



Cause

This issue will occur if the data residency of the organization's core customer data have changed from your original subscription (when you originally created the backup set) to another, for example, from Global to Germany.



The root site url will change from sharepoint.com to sharepoint.de, which caused the issue.

Important:
It does not matter if there is any data under SharePoint, the client application will still scan for all available data for backup (e.g. SharePoint not accessible, hence, the error).

Resolution

To resolve the issue, patch the AhsayCBS and AhsayOBM / ACB application to version 8.5.2.106 or above. Attempt to create the backup set again afterward.
